Established in 1984, Leeds-CSSA (Leeds Chinese Student & Scholars Association) is a non-political, non-religious and non-profit organization, which organizes, sponsors, and supports various social activities among Chinese students and scholars in Leeds.

CSSA-Leeds is committed to developing unique and attractive programs and activities locally. This enables Chinese students, scholars and other ethnic individuals interested in China to experience and enjoy a richer, fuller, and more successful life in Leeds and beyond.

Step to China CIC was awarded the sustainable futures grant by Leeds City council, to promote it's community focused work. The Sustainable Futures project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Leeds City Council. It was primarily set up in March 2006 to support the development of social enterprise activity within the Voluntary, Community and Faith sectors across the Objective 2, Priority 3 areas of Leeds.
